What if…
What if you changed the way you think? What if you gave? What if you did opposite of what everyone else is doing? What if you forgave him or here and moved on? What if you took a risk? What if you totally believed in Christ? What you if you spoke different? What if you reacted different? what if you were honest? What if you did not lie? What if you closed the door on gossip? What if you followed passion over job security? What if you wore Chucks? What if you constantly smiled and laughed? What if you fed the poor? What if you opened your home to strangers? What if you got a tattoo? What if you entertained your mind with scriptures instead of TV? What if you embraced your enemies? What if you saw everyone as equal? What if you gave a second chance? What if you were faithful, what if you prayed more? What if money was not an issue? What if you never sped? What if you never made it? What if your body was healed? What if you were in charge? What if you could change anything you wanted to? How different would this world be?…so what are we waiting for?

The Mind of a Child.
Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

It makes total sense. So what is a child like? Well for one, they hold no record of wrong. Well at least with the kids I have seen it’s that way. My nieces and nephews would fight all the time over toys but they could not live without each other. They’d pick on each other, but if someone else put their 2cents in, there would be a problem. They protected each other all the time no matter what. They hold no grudges and they are pretty quick to forgive and forget.”ouch!”
They are spontaneous, they react on instinct. They know what they want and they go for it without questions. When Diego See’s the remote control he is determined to get it. He will twist and turn just to get it. His eyes never leave the remote. They’re focused on the goal.(hmmm) A child sleeps, wakes, eats, and goes on knowing that it will be that way. They don’t know how the food is going to get there, or who is bringing it, but they know it will be there. They don’t worry, they just expect it be… If that isn’t a great example of faith then I don’t know what is! A child has this crazy imagination. They dream far beyond reality. They think anything is possible. That is where the question “why?” comes into effect. Why? but why? but why Dad? Why can’t we? Whay can’t we fly?..there has to be a way.” Funny thing is, there always is a way! Children make the best of any situation. Diego can be half a sleep, really hungry or really cranky, yet he finds a way to smile at his mom and his dad. If we did that, our lives and of those around us would be so different. Don’t you think? These are just a few qualities found in Children. God created them that way for a reason, but it seems many of us lose those child like forces when we get older and mature. Maybe God is trying to remind us through children day in and day out? Could that very well be what Jesus meant in that scripture? Makes you think…Or am I wrong? I think we can learn alot from our children…

The Windshield Theory
When you know where you are going, it just doesn’t make sense to look back. I am grateful for the mishaps, bumps and scars. I can slightly look back and see where God has taken me from, and how he guided me out. Consider a Windshield and the rear view mirror on it. Have you noticed the size of the windshield contrary to the rear view mirror? Huge difference. Their function is obvious and it makes sense. When you have a huge clear picture of where you are going, the rear view mirror is just enough to get a glimpse at what you have left behind and what you don’t necessarily have to. Could you imagine if it were the other way around. The rear view mirror is huge and the windshield was tiny! Though at times it seems people drive like that anyway! Or navigate their lives in the same manner. There comes a point in our lives when we know where we have to go. God shows us the destination and he places this windshield in-front of us. It clearly shows us where we are going…and some. But he also leaves the rear view mirror there to show us and remind us of where we come from, what we’ve been through and the things you must leave behind. Its a simple theory and it makes sense. So why look back? The picture is clear, and yes at times the windshield gets a little smudged and blurry or hard to see through when it storms, but those things pass. It can be cleaned, buffed, and fixed. So even if your windshield has been shattered or cracked, we can get it fixed and continue on. There is no reason to give up now, we’ve come this far. Uncertainty is an adventure when God is involved. Its outcome? “I told you so…”

Southern Comfort
So we turned off the AC, opened all the windows, and cranked up the ceiling fans. It feels like paradise right now. The sounds of bugs, the palm trees whispering, Diego fighting his sleep! Travis warned me about the weather here in Winter and “DANG” you were right, its amazing. The scent of wood seeping in through the screens of our windows, reminds me of a Night in the streets of Guanajuato, Mexico.(this is where we are from).
It is truly Southern Comfort right now, only better then the drink. Well come to think of it, I’ve Never had a southern comfort. “Tomorrow I will look for fields flowing with Milk and Honey, and Rivers flowing with the best Wine. It makes it seem that way don’t it? Well at least right now it does…Yeah I know what you’re thinking…”this city kid!”. I can’t help it, this is a paradise for me right now. I probably won’t say that during Hurricane season, but hey! Let me have my moment… We slowly migrate together, soon you’ll see what I mean…to be continued.
-enjoy the night.
From the stage
The atmosphere was one for the books. There was one huge problem during worship yesterday morning…(we had to stop!) I could’ve kept singing all day and all night. ” You are All I need”. If that moment is all I ever had, it would be enough, if I never got to that promised land here on earth=that moment would be enough, if i never walked the streets of London again=that moment would be enough…I can go on and on. If I didn’t see my children grow up=that moment would be enough. Nothing can fill a human being like a moment with GOD. Yesterday morning was total proof of that. I wanna go deeper! I wanna get lost in his presence. I wanna be overwhelmed with God, to the point where he is everything, my thoughts, the air I breath…It isn’t about the music, nor the presentation. I don’t even know the notes I play on the guitar nor the piano. That in itself is proof to me. It is far more than just that. Don’t let the good determine your experience in worship. What do I mean by that? You should seize that moment despite of what you feel, hear, and are in the middle of. We should worship not because of what he can do for us, but for who he is. I am so freakn excited…can you tell!!!!
I have an amazing band here at LPC. Bill you remind me of U2’s bass player. But beyond that it is an honor and pleasure to share the stage with you. Todd! Bro thanks for being that backbone and friend. Ladies? You are the bomb! Don’t get to comfortable, we’re going to new levels daily. Lets keep pressing and moving towards our destiny.
+I got a really cool email from a close friend in Chi-town. Didn’t expect what was written but I just gotta say… you are on the road to becoming the person God intended you to be. Prosperous, powerful, successful, and free. I am so excited for you and proud as well. “your present is nothing remotely close to your future.
