Part of my job here at LPC is being the creative arts dude…I create ideas, shoot them, edit them, etc… I have an amazing production team that creates a top notch experience every Sunday! Sometimes I get the itch though, to do some freelance work on my days off here in Miami…I had some very cool moments at Univision in Chicago, made some great friends, learned some great skills in the trade, and learned so much about politics in the workplace…ooops!!! All in all, it was a great experience. Maybe if I’ll scratch the itch it will go away…if not I guess I will go give it a shot go knock at Univision Miami for some fun and extra dough…
I have made the mistake way too much of sitting with my blank notebook and trying to decide who I am creating art and music for. People ask me all the time, “are you a Christian artist?” or are you an artist of the world?” What does that even mean? I really feel like this question has delayed so much for me. Side tracked my journey…I felt I had to write a certain way in order to please one group, or create in a different way so another group would understand and not turn me off on their radio… God designed me to be an artist. I was created by the most creative! I was created to be an artist from this world, for the world. It is all about creating from the heart and soul, otherwise you are creating a superficial work of art. It is about being and sharing who you are, and not who you “think” people want you to be. If you know who you are, you can be in a crowd of 1000’s, and stand out without saying a word. Less of your mouth, more of your walk… Stop worrying about what people will think of your art, music and craft…share what is inside your heart…When you are passionate about your creator, you can trust the art that is pouring out of you. Just create. Inspire and make people move…anything else would be uncivilized.
