Hasta la victoria…Siempre…

I took some time off these past few weeks to be with my girl Reina and our 2 boys. We took a road trip to relax, to examine, to dream, and just lay low for a while and it was great. It also brought us to this crossroad of life and ministry…

I still remember the day I left Chicago to journey down to South Florida. Diego was only 6 weeks old at the time. He is now 2.5 yrs old, and we’ve added another little guy to the equation, Zion Max since…Being here at Life Pointe Church has marked my life in a very significant way and words are not enough to describe it. We made some life long friends, we’ve shared life with so many people here at LPC, we’ve experienced God in the lives of others and in ours as well. It is taking me forever to write this cause there is so much I wanna say. I am just so grateful for the husband, father, friend, leader, artist I have become, and I owe tons of that to Life Pointe Church and a great friend, Travis Johnson. Bro, you have challenged me beyond expectation. You believed in me and in my calling far beyond what I would’ve dreamed…But like you said bro, this is only the beginning…

Yesterday Reina, myself, Diego and Zion said farewell to Life Pointe Church.  It was really tough to share how grateful we are. I tried to be tough and macho on stage, but the tears slowly creeped up on me. You guys became family, you took us in, made us yours, you embraced our boys, you will forever be in our hearts. We blame Life Pointe Church for our departure. Why? because you guys Inspired us, believed in us, brought the best out of us, and encouraged us to be a light to all the world… So now we are ready. Travis said it best Sunday morning, the Santoyo’s are not leaving, we’re sending them to the world. We had the coolest of the coolest times here at LPC… We helped build a village for crying out loud!!!

Someone asked if I was leaving to be part of another church? An amazing job waiting for me elsewhere? Going back to Chicago? Going to Cambodia? Did I get signed?(not yet), did we get tired of LPC? None of the above. LPC is the most amazing job I have ever had… Reina and I are venturing off to a city that has been in our hearts for many yrs.  Reina and I have tons of dreams and passions that burn in our hearts, and we’ve reached a place in our lives where we are ready to be revolutionaries and pursue them. So we’re taking time off to  lay low, focus on our family, organize our passions and dreams and thoughts, and run at them full force. There is no stopping us!!!  No, I don’t have a job yet, nor a place to live yet, but we know, believe and have faith God will open the doors that need to be open for us. ( if you know of any? let us know. LOL) … Biggest lesson learned; The day we left on our road trip, I fed our little goldfish but half way down to Atlanta I realized we had no one to feed it again…dang! So I expected to come home to a house smelling like rotten fish…To my surprise I walked into the house 2 weeks later and he was still alive. I rushed to feed him. He was swimming super slow…but now he is back to normal…I thought…If God can take care of this little fish for 2 weeks, how much more us his children? He calls us all, I guess some are afraid he won’t show up…but he will…

We are headed to Nashville TN to pursue the things in our hearts,  share our gifts and make a difference on this planet. We’re gonna give it a shot! We are so freakn excited!!!Special thanks to our life group for pushing us over the edge to pursue our dreams, Travis for having world-changing conversations with me( we’re still not done bro), Life Pointe Church for setting our hearts on fire and bringing out the best in us, and a very special Chi-town couple who was the bridge and Connection without even knowing it!!! “World Domination!!!”

Here is my final thought and food for thought…”Fear paralizes you if you allow it, but Faith sets you free and gives you wings”…

  1. No words…just tears. I miss the four of you already. I’m confident that God is guiding. And, where He guides, look out because hell is going to pay.

Much love to you guys. And, make some room so we can visit. Southwest flies Ft. Lauderdale to Nashville for supercheap.

I have not said this to you but you and your family have inspired me to be a better dad, brother and follower of Jesus Christ. I will miss seeing you, hearing you preach and simply miss being around you. Thanks For taking me in when Mary and the kids were still in TN. MY LIFE, my words, my faith and my family are better from knowing you!

We have had the privelidge of watching you become an awsome leader and minister. You and the family are heading for great things and I’m really proud of the fact we were able to make music together for the audience of One.

    You will be sorely missed.
